MoonSmile Daze is currently an online only business with goals of having an official Brick & Mortar location here in Honolulu.

The Name

The word MoonSmile was first created as a friendly joke. I would constantly leave post it notes with a smiley face drawn on it along with positive words in random places knowing it would make someone smile. It didn't matter if I wasn't there to see it, just knowing there was one less negative thought floating around out there. And that is what I want my business to stand for. Be a Proton!

The Roots

Being a 90's kid, I got to see the start of Pokemon and it's TCG glory back when there was only 150 known Pokemon Species. Although, I never got to learn the actual TCG game, I was still in awe with the artwork and the "shiny" cards; which evolved into a personal collection. At 9 years old, there was only one place I knew of that sold them. It was a little mom & pop shop that sold tons of toys and knickknacks from Japan. The joy and excitement of just being there is indescribable.

Present Day

Fast Forward to present day, of course I outgrew these things with the help of PC gaming & having to get a job. Like many of us, the Pandemic paused the world and caused me to reflect back on the simple yet joyful days as a child. Bringing me back to the collection I once had and took so much pride in. In the wake of it all, I realized TCG was not easy to find locally these days.

The Spark

Why not start my own store and do what I love?! Being in Hawaii is no easy feat; especially with high real-estate, shipping, let alone, cost of living in Paradise. So I've decided to start with an online only store and grow organically to being able to afford an official Brick & Mortar location. I'm hoping to create a more than just a store. I want it to be a place where gamers & collectors of all sorts can shop and get together. I want it to be a place where everyone at any age can call it their positive space.
